Some girls are bold enough to wear heels to school, while others choose sneakers and some choose Sperry’s. Instead of alternating between these types of shoes, try different styles of oxfords.

Yes, these shoes, originally worn by Scottish men in the 1800s, are back and have been introduced as an increasingly popular female accessory as well.

Sophomore Rakeb Teklehiwot took advantage of this fashion trend and paired them with a sheer top, skinny jeans and an abstract necklace.

“I like how [the shoes] [have] a manly feel to [them],” said Teklehiwot.

Oxfords are a versatile way of adding something eclectic to a style that’s more bland in personality.

Sabrina Clarke is one of the newest additions to The Pitch this 2012-2013 school year. She is a sophomore taking on the role of editor of both Arts & Entertainment and Feature on the online component to the school newspaper. She enjoys dancing, singing, acting, and, of course, writing. At WJ, one may find Sabrina screaming passionately about something she feels incredibly strongly about. Outside of school, Sabrina spends  up to eleven hours per week dancing in a pre-professional company. What with dance and writing, Sabrina can effectively express her opinions without seeming too harsh.
