Song of the Week: “Scream & Shout” by Will.I.Am feat. Britney Spears

Good house music and dubstep with contorted sound bytes may be hard to come by, but when techies and influential music moguls come together, the experience turns epic.

This can be seen with the former ringleader of the Black Eyed Peas, Will.I.Am, who is furthering his solo career alongside the Queen of Pop, Britney Spears. His newest single is called “Scream & Shout.”

It’s a simple song that gets people moving. It has a consistent and repetitive beat that sounds a lot like what would be expected in the U.K., which goes along with the “English” feel already provided by Spears’ quite convincing British accent that transports listeners.

Together, the beat and the accent create a British club feel that closely mimics a single by British underground artist, Skepta, called “Rolex Sweep,” that was released in 2009.

“Scream & Shout” is one that requires multiple plays before becoming a fan. At first, it may seem a bit cliché but it’s a nice tune to which you can dance and party hard.
