Video of the Week: “‘Suit and Tie’- Justin Timberlake ft. Jay Z (Max Schneider Cover)”

Each time a new song is released, hit covers by various artists almost always follow. Though established artists sometimes create covers, often times lesser known artists use covers as a way to gain popularity and reach new audiences. Justin Timberlake’s latest single, “Suit and Tie,” released on Jan. 24, is the latest song to receive much fanfare.

Self-proclaimed Timberlake fan and singer, 21-year old Max Schneider, jumped on the chance to make his rendition of the single. Schneider is an up-and-coming actor and musician who has participated in several concerts and tours with pop singer Victoria Justice. He is apart of the familiar faces in the world of covers, with Justice as well as lesser known artists Kurt Schneider, Sam Tsui, Alex Goot and many others.

This cover particularly stands out because it adds an individual flair, making it more desirable than the original. It quickens the pace of the song, which creates a sort of groove that is lacking in the original. Schneider’s pianist, Nick Brown, helps to add to this groove by contributing a jazzy ambiance.

Schneider’s cover of the Timberlake song proves to be the best of his repertoire, consisting of songs from Justin Bieber, Swedish House Mafia and David Guetta.
