Every human has flaws. Perhaps John Mayer's are more pronounced because of his celebrity: the world has heard too many of his clueless ramblings about sex and race on his Twitter page and in recent "Playboy" interviews. But when Mayer used his mouth to sing rather than babble incoherently, those of us in attendance at the Verizon Center last Saturday remembered why we came.

WJ students love to brag about their lack of sleep, whether it's due to spending the night doing homework and studying or coming home late from a sports practice or game. In WJ culture, a sleepless night is often viewed as a sign of academic or extracurricular success. Likewise, to the Fairfax-based band Sing Me Insomnia, an all-nighter is only a good thing - after hours are meant for dancing the night away. After becoming a poprock and acoustic band in 2007, singer/guitarist Jarad Cunningham, singer/keyboard player Marshall Cunningham, bassist Wes Beale and drummer Jordan DePries began playing at many local venues, bringing their catchy sounds to the Capital, and of course, to WJ students.
