While some students find themselves flocking to Chipotle for a quick lunch, or going to the Silver Diner with friends during the weekend, there are many restaurants that students may not be aware of. Here are some restaurants in our area that are not regularly in the spotlight.

This small deli/bagelry is hidden away from most large crowds, but students who drive cars to lunch occasionally pass by this family friendly bagelry. It has many different options for breakfast and lunch, and makes almost everything from scratch, including cream cheese. The kitchen is in plain view, allowing customers to watch as workers make their meals. The store is family run, giving the restaurant a “homey” and comfortable feel. One wall is covered by pictures of customers, mostly small children, families and the occasional WJ teacher or student. The food is very filling, with so many different combinations for something as ordinary as a bagel. For breakfast, they have bagels and cream cheese platters, fresh pastry platters, which contain muffins, sweet breads, danish , twists and minis. They also have seasonal fresh fruit on display. For lunch, they have deli platters, sandwich platters, and simple yet fresh meals such as chicken caesar salad, and their garden salad. For dessert, they offer cookie and brownie platters, and fruit kabobs with brown sugar dipping sauce. Most of these options come out to be three to four dollars a person. The food arrives fresh to your table, and since it’s relatively close to WJ, it is known to be a popular spot for many students during lunch. The food is also perfect for students who want something fresh and healthy before they head to school. In addition, Ize’s caters for social gatherings, which can be perfect for club meetings or events.
