Following Security Team Leader Lisa Kennedy’s resignation on April 3, new policies are expected to be introduced.


“I think you’ve already seen change just in the past two weeks,” said acting security team leader Howard Beaubien.

Working at Walter Johnson for seven years now, Beaubien also has 30 years of security and management experience.

Beaubien has only several months as security leader before the year ends, but he hopes to make his mark with the help of the entire security team.

“We’re going to be stricter everything from skipping class. . . to you name it,” said Security Assistant Jimmy Etheridge. “Sometimes if you see security in the hall, they might pass you and not say something, but this is because they may be responding to a call.”

Top on his list of priorities is to build a sense of community, to make the Security Office and the security team, in itself, more visible, ultimately tackling the difficulties that construction created.

The new security team will face changes again this summer.

Advertisement and interviews for the security team leader position for the new school year will begin in May, but there is no clear date.
