In the three years since taking office, the O’Malley-Brown Administration has allotted over $1 billion for school construction, with $120 million to be used in Montgomery County. Lt. Governor Anthony G. Brown announced the monetary commitment at an April 17 press conference held at WJ.
“Governor O’Malley and I understand that these are tough times,” said Brown. “But even in these tough times, we must protect our progress and fight even harder to put our families are our kids first.”
At the press conference, Brown presented Principal Christopher Garran with a ceremonial check representing the additional $13.6 million that is included in the 2010 construction budget.
“I truly appreciate the commitment of our state and local officials as they make sure that funding is provided for our school construction,” said Garran in a press release.
