United States- On Friday Sept. 7 Maryland Democratic Congressional candidate, Wendy Rosen, was discovered to have committed voter fraud and was forced to drop out of the race. The state party said they had discovered she had voted in both Maryland and Florida in 2006 during the general election, and again in 2008 during the presidential primaries. Though she dropped out of the race, state officials have stated that it is too late to take Rosen’s name off the ballot. (Source: Politico)

Globe- The U.S. Embassy in Egypt was attacked on Tuesday Sept. 11 by Egyptian protesters as they surrounded the embassy, tore down the American flag and ripped it to pieces, and then tried to raise a black flag in its place saying the words, “There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger.” This protest was in response to a film being produced in the United States that protesters said insulted the prophet Muhammad. The film is called “Innocence of Muslims.” (Source: The New York Times)
