It's five o'clock on a January morning, and most of us are trying to cram in our last hours of sleep before school starts. But the swim and dive team is submerged in water, training for the upcoming meets. Some would ask: why would anyone want to get up even earlier than we have to?
Highlights: The scores were close and it all came down to the last relay, but the WJ team still could not take the lead.
MVP: Swim - Junior Elizabeth Pepper, who won two events and had some of the fastest times in the country in those events. Dive - Sophomore Annie Kastler maintained her county record in diving by staying undefeated.
Record: Boys 2-1, Girls 1-2
Next Meet: Against Churchill at Germantown Indoor Swim Club, Jan. 30 at 11:30 a.m.
Pitch Online sports editor Jeremy Smith sits down with senior co-captain Kevin Spak before the team's Dec. 5 scrimmage to discuss the upcoming swimming and diving season.
