Girls Volleyball Recap: Oct. 18 – Oct. 25

After capping their first division title since 1998, Oct. 20 brought the girls volleyball team to face Sherwood, recently ranked no. 10  by the Washington Post. Despite going 7-1 in their last eight games, the Wildcats fell short and were defeated by the Warriors in three straight sets 18-25, 14-25, 20-25.

After the tough loss, the team rebounded with wins over Watkins Mill and Rockville, both at home. The ‘Cats combined for 150 points versus their opponents’ 89 points to improve their record to 9-3 overall.

Sophomore Ivana Stojisavljevic is leading the team with 161 digs while fellow sophomore Kristin Larrick has racked up 53 kills and 68 blocks.

Heading down into the last stretch of the season, the team will try to hold on to a top seed for the regional playoffs, with the draw occurring next week.
