Song of the Week: “Brother” by Matt Corby

The song of the week is “Brother” by the 2007 Australian Idol runner up Matt Corby. This unique melodic song by the Aussie indie-folk singer songwriter is making major air waves with popular artists such as Harry Styles of One Direction and British breakthrough artist Ed Sheeran. These two popular artists have recently tweeted about how much they like the single from his Extended Play album, “Into the Flame.” Corby has put his anger and soul into the song, which is about a close friend turning on him. Overall, this song has a soulful vibe that adds a lot to the meaning behind the tune. Although this song has an aesthetic feel, the infectious beat and repetition of the pre-verse will be stuck in your head throughout the day.
