Video of the Week: “‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Parody’ by the Hillywood Show”

Every time an epic film emerges, “The Hillywood Show” (THS), an entertainment company made solely for the purpose of parodies, creates elaborate mockeries to hit songs that correspond to the film’s summary.

With the recent release of “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,” the show has come again with a parody of the hit book’s trailer to the song “Shots” by LMFAO.

The entire video captures the moments in which the dwarves, headed by Thorin Oakenshield, try to convince Bilbo Baggins, the story’s protagonist, to join them on their journey to reclaim their treasure from the dragon Smaug. The dwarves raid Bilbo’s house and proceed to make themselves comfortable by taking his food and drink. But in the spoof, the dwarves try to drunk Bilbo and coerce him into signing the travel agreement. By the end of the parody, Bilbo doesn’t quite remember the encounter with the dwarves.

These short videos require time, planning and a large budget. Even with all of the expenses, the group continues their practice by running mainly on fan donations and endorsements from other entertainment companies such as “A7” and “MyIsh.”

THS has tackled “The Twilight Saga,” “The Vampire Diaries” and “The Hunger Games,” in addition to a few of their own spoofs on Lady Gaga.
