Despite how much I enjoyed the first “The Amazing Spider-Man” movie, I repeatedly find myself being the only one who actually liked it. However, my hopes are that the second movie will be better than the first, so everyone else can enjoy what is shaping up (in my eyes) to be an awesome reboot of a series that failed to impress the last time it hit the big screen.
The cast looks pretty awesome, with Andrew Garfield returning as spiderman, and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy. The Rhino (Paul Giamatti) is also supposed to make an appearance, though he was only really shown crushing some pavement in the trailer. But the real highlight for me is that Jamie Foxx is cast as Electro, one of the coolest villains ever, and I’m excited to see how the director (Marc Webb) will tackle his origin story. The movie is currently slated to be released in May of 2014, and I will be among the many counting down the days until the release.
