After four years of enduring this warzone we call high school, I’m eagerly trudging my way to the final stretch: graduation. It’s about one month away and yet, it still feels like an eternity. There isn’t a lot of time left to see my friends or enjoy high school, but homework and tests? Don’t worry about that, there’s plenty of time for all that.
How is it that even though school is almost over for seniors, teachers still manage to supply me with hours and hours of homework each night? I understand AP tests are coming up, but the never-ending onslaught of work being dumped on me is just insane. I don’t remember getting this amount of work over the past few months.
As a senior, who may or may not be suffering from senioritis, I don’t have a desire to complete any of this work, especially considering that I am in a college already. I think teachers should just stop giving all this work, because let’s be honest, with graduation right around the corner, no senior wants to do the work and no teacher wants to grade the work. Let’s have a win-win situation and just have a chill month before the seniors are free. The only reason I see this as an issue is because I’ve already decided where I’m going to college and lack the motivation I had in junior year to do work and get good grades. They serve no purpose to me anymore.
Maybe I shouldn’t have this attitude towards work, since there is still information being taught, but I can’t help not being motivated when I will get the same result of doing work as not doing the work. so teachers can continue to give me test, after test, after test, but I hope they don’t expect me to continue to put the work in. Sorry, senioritis is real…too real.
