Highlight: Despite some unfortunate calls, the team was able to maintain the ball and get shots on goal.

I absolutely loved the competitive fire in the team and their strong desire to work hard in practice and carry that over to games. They craved hard work, and that is also on of my favorite parts of coaching WJ. The work ethic of this team is amazing, coach Neil Gottlieb said.

Senior captain Marina Thorn is joined by her family as they walk down the field. Thorn has been playing for the varsity Wildcats for four years and got to celebrate her commitment to the program.
Senior soccer players celebrate final season
Senior Irena Sanchez-Burgueno faces off against Whitman senior Riley DeMartina. After scoring her first goal, Sanchez-Burgueno worked to keep the momentum going. “We did well in dominating the play in the second half through pressing, attacking runs, and generating scoring opportunities,” Sanchez-Burgueno said.

A quirky character, Daniel enjoys many fun-filled activities. When it comes to sports, his favorites are soccer and tennis. He always tries to go out on adventures and those who know him, know that he has the imagination of a six-year-old (that’s a good thing). If someone gave him a box to play with, he would think of so many games that no Xbox could compete with him. Aside from that, in his spare time he enjoys just hanging out with friends or watching some TV. His favorite shows include “Entourage,” probably one the greatest shows ever created, and various other comedies like “Two and a Half Men” and “Seinfeld.” If you ever decide to find him, he'll probably be taking a walk along the beach or reading a book by the sunset.
