Homecoming Game Recap

WJ defeated the Kennedy Cavaliers 42-21 in the homecoming game on Oct. 21, 2011.

In the first quarter, Kennedy played well offensively and immediately scored a touchdown at the 11:03 mark. They then fumbled the ball on the extra point attempt leaving the score at 6-0. As the game progressed, the Wildcats picked up their performance. By the end of the third quarter, they were up 28-13.

The Wildcats led off the fourth quarter by scoring a touchdown, increasing the lead to 35-13. The Cavaliers then scored their final touchdown at 4:49, bringing the score to 35-20. “I was hoping we would follow through,” said varsity football coach Jon Kadi, “I knew we could.”

The crowd went wild as WJ sprinted to the end zone with 59 seconds left on the clock, and ended the game with a hearty 42-20 win, leaving some proud fans in tears. Kadi was especially proud of his team on that day.

“I’m definitely glad we won our homecoming game,” he said.
