The Ice Cats are gaining momentum heading into the second half of their season.

After demolishing BCC 7-1 in their first game of the season, the Ice Cats entered their second big rivalry matchup against BCC with high expectations. They did not disappoint, winning by a final score of 3-1. This comes as their fourth win of the season.

The Ice Cats dominated all three periods on offense and defense. Goals came from senior captain Quinn Mulligan, senior Chris Dorrer and sophomore Justin Davids. Stout defense came with the goals, as freshman goalkeeper Jason Conlan was a brick wall in front of the net.

Senior captain Mike Greene played a big role in the win, making his return from injury against BCC. Greene has consistently been a great defender for the Ice Cats, and his return will certainly prove very useful to the team as they near the end of the season.

“It feels great to be back and come back on a win, especially against a big rival like BCC,” Greene said.

Rivalry wins are always important to any team, and the big win will give the Ice Cats momentum going into the second half of the season.

“We were in a bit of a slump, but that was a great team win that will carry into the next few games,” Greene said.

With just six games left, the Ice Cats look to build on the momentum created with their second win over BCC this season and capitalize on a star defenseman coming back from injury to succeed in the last part of the season.
