The Joy of Thanksgiving Football

The Joy of Thanksgiving Football

Thanksgiving football is a tradition dating back for decades for many families. This yearly event brings families and friends together while letting the players’ competitive spirit out. Often times families go home and watch football, and most times they watch the Cowboys and Lions because they play every year. They watch while feasting over the big meal that has been prepared. Football is often called “America’s sport” and with all this football on Thanksgiving it is now clear to me now that this is America’s holiday because it is full of Americans’ two favorite things: football and food.

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because the traditions my family participates in, such as the football game dating back 40 years. We meet up and just get a big game going. There’s laughing and jokes told but when push comes to shove it turns into a fairly intense game. Afterwards, the gentlemen of age crack open a beer and the kids get their soda pops and we tell more stories and jokes before we part all ways.
