Ben’s 2012-2013 NFL Season Summary

Bens 2012-2013 NFL Season Summary

As the confetti came down on the Baltimore Ravens, they were the champions of the NFL. But were they really? In my opinion, the best team, the Broncos, was not even playing on Superbowl Sunday. The Broncos had the best quarterback in the league, Peyton Manning, who was second in the MVP voting. The Broncos defense was also very good this year, led by Von Miller who was second in defensive player of the year voting.

In the second round of the AFC playoffs, the Broncos had played a fairly mediocre game by their standards and all they needed to do was get to a first down to beat the Ravens. They did not get the first down, the Ravens completed a hail mary, and won in overtime.

If the Broncos could have converted a first down or if they had not let up a hail mary at the end of regulation, they may have won the Superbowl, but the Ravens were able to defy the odds and make miracles happen. This NFL season will be remembered for great performances, records broken and big plays. Although a team who was not the best in the league won the Superbowl, in my opinion it was still one of the best seasons in NFL history.
