On April 1, the Montgomery County Police Department discovered ten students from local Walter Johnson High School being held hostage in the Giant grocery store located on Old Georgetown Road.

“The students were locked in a room usually used to store containers of popcorn chicken.  By the time we arrived on the scene, the containers were empty and crumbs were everywhere,” said Officer F. Ool.

The students all claim that they were put into the room by a Giant security guard after they were caught attempting to steal the store’s merchandise.  Interestingly enough, all ten are currently enrolled as freshmen.

“I mean, like, I know an upperclassmen guy who said he used to steal all the time and it was like… I thought I would try it out for a spin, yolo, ya know?” said one of the students found by the police, Allison Flinn.

The students were determined to be unharmed after medical examinations, but some said they were concerned about how this situation would affect their futures.

“Wait-like could I get banned from [Georgetown Square]?  I was totally gonna snag a rice burrito tomorrow,” said Billy Keller.
