Senior Cori Caggiano is one of the top lacrosse players in the county. Caggiano plays attack wing and scorches defense with her combination of speed and power. Although Caggiano’s individual accomplishments are great, her main goal is helping the team succeed as she is one of the teams three captains.
“[The team is] shooting to be division champs this season,” said Caggiano. “We have a great team here, with significant experience behind us. With so much commitment and motivation, we expect a successful season.”
A personal goal for Caggiano is to set her team up for success.
“As the returning center captain I hope to lead the team in assists and create as many scoring opportunities for the team as possible,” she said.
Gary Reburn has been proud to coach Caggiano for two years now. He and his coaching staff found she was the perfect fit to be a junior captain last year and he was glad to give her the role of senior captain this year.
“She has the ability to not only lead, but [also] teach while combining natural talent with raw, focused determination,” said Reburn.
The team has started out with a 7-5 record, largely from Caggiano’s impressive play. Caggiano has carried her team not only with her playing but with her outstanding senior leadership.
