WJ Acting Principal Nicole Morgan was appointed as permanent principal on March 19. The Board voted in favor of Morgan’s appointment unanimously.

Nicole J. Morgan was appointed by the Board of Education as WJ’s new principal on March 19, following the retirement of long-time former principal Jennifer Baker. Baker was appointed principal in 2011. During the last months of Baker’s time at WJ, Morgan was a principal intern under Baker.

During the Board’s regular business meeting Tuesday, Dr. Monique Felder, MCPS Interim Superintendent of Schools, presented Morgan to the Board, who voted unanimously to approve her.

“She looks forward to continuing to support the Walter Johnson community,” Felder said.

In attendance alongside Morgan was her husband, both of her sons and her mother. Other special guests in attendance during Morgan’s appointment included Baker and Assistant Principal Gail Samuels.
