September 14, 2015 was the 21st season premiere of the ABC hit series “Dancing with the Stars,” and while the concept of celebrities and ballroom dancers teaming up hasn’t changed since the beginning, the premiere did not lack in entertainment value. This season, the show brought in everyone from Vine and Youtube sensation Hayes Grier to former Food Network star Paula Deen, who struggled from the start earning an extremely low score of 15 out of 30 from the judges. The lowest score of the night was a mere 12 points that went to Bravo star Kim Zolciak-Biermann and R&B/soul singer Chaka Kahn.

For the first time ever, the show has brought in two stars married to each other, who already appear to be fan favorites, “Spy Kids” actress Alexa PenaVega and “Big Time Rush” star Carlos PenaVega. Another fan favorite is the late Steve Irwin’s daughter, Bindi Irwin. Irwin dedicated her first dance, which captured the hearts of thousands of viewers, to the man we all know as The Crocodile Hunter. The hashtag #teamcrikey was even trending on Twitter for a bit. There was no elimination in the first week of the show, but last night September 21, started the second week and a double elimination. Chaka Kahn and partner Keo Motsepe were the first duo to be sent home on Monday night, followed by Karina Smirnoff and Victor Espinoza being sent home Tuesday.

Next week is sure to be filled with more ballroom drama as the stakes get higher and the chances to stay on the dance floor get slimmer.
