The WJ cross country team dominated Damascus Wednesday at local Cabin John Park in which they claimed first place in every event.
These races included a boys and girls 3-mile race in which seniors Sean O’Leary and Ishan Dey along with junior Alex Willett all tied for first place for the varsity boys rach. Junior Anna Bosse also claimed first in the varsity girls race.
“People work together to get through the tough parts and use their teammates to push each other,” said sophomore Paige Keller.
The Cabin John trail, located in Bethesda, Md., is the home course for WJ and their runners.
The WJ cross country team looks to build upon this victory while looking down the road to the rest of the season.
“[We’re] really looking forward to future meets like counties and states where we hopefully win it all,” said Kelle.
