United States- On Oct. 22, the third and final presidential debate between President Barack Obama and Republican candidate, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney took place in Boca Raton, FL, at Lynn University. The format of this debate was identical to the first and the issues discussed involved foreign policy. Israel was the main topic of foreign policy, as both candidates were trying to gather votes by proving who will, or has done, more to help the nation of Israel in defense, economics and protection. The debate was moderated by Bob Schieffer, the host of Face the Nation on CBS. Globe- On Oct. 26 a suicide bomber in Faryab, Afghanistan killed 45 and wounded 60 worshipers celebrating the most important Muslim holiday of the year, Id al-Adha. President Hamid Karzai condemned the attack, claiming that people who do this are a disgrace to the religion of Islam and they are neither human nor Muslim. Twenty-five members of the dead were members of the Afghan National Security Forces including the head of the force, Abdul Rahman. The attack has been labeled as a possible revenge mission from the Taliban as the force engaged in battle with them on the Wednesday before. (Source: The New York Times)
