All the rides and entertainment for the fair are set up and in action. The Montgomery County Agricultural Fair is a great place to go with endless fun.

It’s a warm summer day and you and your friends are looking for something to do. You have already taken a walk and gotten food, so there isn’t much left to do. All of a sudden, you see an Instagram post about the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair that’s recently reopened, and you and your friends burst into excitement to go.

The Montgomery County Agricultural Fair is an amazing annual summer event located in Gaithersburg, MD. This year the fair runs from Friday, Aug. 11 to Saturday, Aug, 19. They have a variety of rides and attractions fit for all ages.

“The lines for the rides can be long depending on the ride and day, but it is totally worth the wait. It is a super fun experience for all ages,” sophomore Alina Bonior said.

In addition to the endless, thrilling rides, the fair also provides free entertainment every day that you don’t wanna miss.

They feature Brad Matchett who comedically teaches healthy eating habits, Carrie McQueen who is the ultimate stilt walker, Joe Stebbing, the chainsaw carver, a pig race, a raptor show with all different types of birds, car races, comedy shows and so much more.

“I remember one time when I saw the pigs racing, I laughed so hard when I saw those little piglets run so fast. It was definitely an experience I will never forget,” sophomore Lily Bienfang said.

In addition to the mind-blowing entertainment, the fair also has an extensive array of food for any type of eater. Whether you are looking for something sweet, sour or salty, the fair has it all. Some of their most popular foods include donuts, turkey legs, churros, fresh apples, crepes, lemonade and 45 diverse places to find all different kinds of delicious foods.

“The churros are delicious and definitely my top favorite. On top of that, the overall pricing for the food is also great,” junior Cameron Luskin said.

The fair also has super fun contests with prizes which are a great way to have fun and show creativity over the summer. This year they are holding a flower arranging contest, cheese carving contests, coloring contests and so many more cool ways to competitively show your creativity.

In addition to all the unique and fun opportunities the fair provides, they also do it at a great price. Children 11 and under can go to the fair for free and adults cost $15 at the gate and $12 online.
