Lurking behind the neon signs of fast food restaurants lies a secret menu similar to that of Starbucks and Mcdonald’s. These items may not be widely known to the public abroad, but with enough digging, this secret can be revealed. We did some searching and a new discovery at Chipotle has been found. Chipotle’s secret menu features bizarre and unique items only found at select locations, including the G-Square location.
Tres Leche
Inspired by Mexican cuisine, this delectable “3 milk” cake is a great option for dessert at Chipotle. This cake comes in single slices and creamy frosting with a soft but spongy cake. The slice will set you back 5 dollars, but it’s definitely worth it to us. So, next time you’re craving a chipotle bowl but it’s not enough to fill up on, just ask for the Tres Leche cake and the employees will be happy to serve you one.
“The Tres Leche they have at chipotle is actually the best because they’re only selling it for $4.99 and it’s delicious,” sophomore Yuri Sternberg said.
Foot-long Taco
Just as Subway has come out with brand new foot-long items, so has Chipotle. This secret item has only been around for a few weeks and it’s a daring task to eat it all. Coming in at around 2600 calories, the footlong taco is by far the largest item at Chipotle. Just make sure you ask for it when the employee asks what you would like to order.
“I usually get the foot-long taco and split it with my friends and yeah it could probably feed a family of five,” sophomore Sasha Rotton said.
Verano Sauce
Everyone knows Chick-fil-a’s famous Chick-fil-a sauce, but most people probably didn’t know that Chiptole has their own signature sauce. Verano Sauce is a sweet and tangy sauce that can be added to any bowl or burrito to enhance the flavor. Although not advertised, this sauce has been there for a while and is a favorite for the few who know about it.
“I really liked the new chipotle sauce they introduced at our chipotle at G-square, it’s really good. I got it on my burrito bowl just today and I shared some with my friends, they really liked it. I’m definitely gonna get it again next time I order,” junior Max Greenbaum said.
Ice Cream Sandwiches
Although this might sound random, the Ice Cream sandwiches came a few weeks after the Tres Leche to boost the dessert options at Chipotle. This classic sandwich features two biscuits and a slab of smooth vanilla ice cream in the middle. All you’ll need is $2.50 to get your hands on one and make sure to eat it fast before it melts.
“The ice cream sandwich is one of the best i’ve ever tasted, I recommend buying it, it’s a 10/10,” senior Marina Thorn said.
Mac and Cheese
Being a customer favorite at any restaurant, it’s hard to go wrong with Mac and Cheese. Yet somehow, Chipotle messed it up. Chipotle’s Mac and Cheese is something straight out of the dumpster and we would not recommend it under any circumstances.
“My friend choked on it 2 weeks ago and the staff did nothing. I got it and there was something moving in it. I don’t know what they put in it,” freshman Jay Resnik said.
