Trend Alert: Denim Jackets

Adding a denim jacket to your outfit is a durable yet comfortable way to add a bit of flair. They come in many different washes, ranging from light to dark, and can turn any combination of clothes into something trendier. Denim jackets can also make a formal look more casual and school appropriate.

This is exactly what junior Ivanna Barrientos did with her bodycon dress. She added military boots and a denim jacket, which created an edgier look.

“I got [the jacket] from a thrift store and ripped my own hole in it to add character,” said Barrientos.

Barrientos also feels that older, vintage denim jackets, and denim in general, that look more worn out are better because they’re something that can’t be replicated.

“If you shop at a thrift store like I did, no one will have it,” she said.

Barrientos shops at local thrift stores not only to save money, but to find pieces that are somewhat aged to add some spunk to her outfits.

Denim jackets aren’t just for looking fashionable, however, they also work well during the fall for keeping warm.
