Spirit week takes over WJ

  • From left to right: Alison Razafimandimby and Sydney Fraser embracing Spirit week by participating in Dress up or Dress Down, Monday’s spirit day. These juniors demonstrated the two possibilities of this spirit day as Razafimandimby wore jeans with a sweater vest while Fraser wore pajama pants.

  • On Throwback Tuesday, junior Stella Weiss posing with peace signs and a peace symbol on her necklace to involve herself in spirit week. The headband and baggy sweatshirt with some dye replicates hippy style.

  • Freshman Citrus Romano throwing up some peace signs during lunch in her throwback outfit for Spirit Week on Tuesday. As a freshman, Romano is enthusiastic to take part in spirit at school.

  • On Throwback Thursday, Freshman Anah Simwenyi poses in her tie dye t-shirt along with her overalls and a red headband to represent hippies and the 1960s. As a Freshman, Simwenyi is ecstatic to have so many years ahead of her to continue to participate in these spirit weeks.

  • Dressed up as Avril Lavigne, Janaiyah Inniss throws it back to one of her favorite artists and an iconic style in the 2000s. The blue themed outfit truly differentiates from other usual tie dye outfits that most people wear.

  • Senior Jeremiah Fan goes full out with his costume to represent his favorite fictional character on Wednesday’s spirit day.

  • Dressed up as Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh, Lily Ren loves participating in Character Day on Wednesday for Spirit Week because it gives her an excuse to wear an extremely fuzzy and comfortable onesie to school.

  • Junior Liam Dorrien wears a Spider-Man themed outfit for Wednesday’s Character Day. Dorrien shows his spidey spirit as he pays homage to the new Spider-Man motion picture.

  • From the recent Loki series, sophomore Maddy Moses flawlessly represents the female Loki otherwise known as Sylvie that Loki( Tom Hiddleston) meets during the first season of the show. Moses was happy to display this costume on Character Day.

  • Senior Ula Cieslak utilized Character Day in a different way then the others. Cieslak dresses up as a nurse with dark blue scrubs for her character representation.

  • From left to right: On Thursday, Jiyu Kim, Tata Toure and Catherine Fang celebrate the upcoming holidays by throwing on some traditional “Ugly Sweaters” for Spirit Week.

  • Jonathan Rodriguez waits in line in the cafeteria like everyday but today, disguised as Santa Claus. Rodriguez wore a Santa hat and red clothing to celebrate the holidays.

  • From right to left: Adam Brodsky, Max Kaminski, Marissa Krantz, Julia Levine, Zeke Ross on their way out to G Square during lunch were all dressed up in their Holiday Sweaters. These seniors went all out for their last December spirit week.

  • Senior Julia Beato celebrates the holidays by being spirited for Thursday’s Holiday Day.

  • Fully decked out with her holiday onesie and reindeer hat on Thursday, SGA President Halle Burns gives the thumbs up to encourage all her peers to dress up for Spirit week days. December’s spirit week took the students right into winter break and brought enthusiasm to the school.

  • From left to right: Becca Scherr, Bella Woolen and Sophia Taylor all greened out on Friday to represent the senior class for the pep rally. Unfortunately, the pep rally was canceled in order to maintain safety throughout the school, but each class continued showing their spirit with their class colors.

  • From left to right: Katerina Arvanitis and Kiera Poersch repping their class color with white clothing for the pep rally on Friday. For the pep rally, each grade wears their own color: Freshman (red), Sophomores (white), Juniors (black), and Seniors (green).

  • From left to right: Seniors Julia Beato and Hana Elster are coming back from the cafeteria with their lunch dressed in Monday’s Dress up or Dress down spirit. Beato decided to dress up with a skirt and nice sweater while Elster dressed down with sweatpants and an oversized sweatshirt.

  • From left to right (top row): Ella Barrett, Taryn Dalton, Sinead Longsworth. (Bottom row): Gretchen Klotz all zonked out due to the stress that Senior year imposes. Dress up or Dress down spirit Monday was beneficial as it allowed these tired seniors to get some extra sleep.
