  • Philipos Melaku-Bello has been sitting in front of the White House for over 30 years promoting messages of anti-war and human rights. He said he had to face over 35 law suits, but the small book he held in his hand, a copy of the US Constitution, has saved him every time.

  • A young protester carries a sign walking next to his mother. She said she is extremely proud of him and is trying to teach him what is right from a young age.

  • An older man rides his bike past the protesters. While others had silently joined the march and walked behind, this one chose to move on.

  • Sophia Geiger leads the march with chants of “The Earth, the Earth, the Earth is on fire! We don’t need their money let the corporations burn!”

  • Protesters head towards Capitol Hill on Pennsylvania Avenue as clouds gather overhead.

  • A police officer directs protestors past the barricades to the Capitol Lawn. Some were surprised at the high police presence that greeted them as they approached the Capitol.

  • The march winds down in front of the Capitol. The protesters and organizers began to gather for speeches.
