Graduation is upon us. Seniors are ready to take the next big step and start their futures!

Besides graduation itself, graduation parties are probably what seniors look forward to most. Seniors just want to get it all over with and start relaxing. After four years of difficult work in high school, a break is exactly what they need. Many seniors can’t wait to get together at a friend’s house or go to an event to celebrate the end of their high school lives. They’ve grown with their peers and are now ready to go forward and create their own future. The party itself is well anticipated and exciting to think about. There sometimes is a theme which makes things more fun for the guests. It can range from casual to elegant. Most people go for the food which tends to be something fancy or even just good old pizza. Let’s be honest, who doesn’t love food? These parties tend to go on until late and seniors love posting about it on their social media platforms. There’s lots of dancing to the newest music and even classic party songs from the early 2000’s. It’s mostly a time used to talk to fellow peers and reminisce over the good memories shared in high school.

“It’s basically a party for love, friends, fun, awkwardness, crazy stuff and a change of environment,” former WJ student Awa Gueye said.

Lots of photos and videos are taken to preserve the best moments in order to be able to look back and enjoy them. Usually, the stuff that happens at grad parties tend to be remembered which is why people tend to go big. Plans tend to be heard in advance, as people want to make the most of it.

People tend to host their own version of a graduation party. Not everyone’s is the same which is why they’re considered so special. Planning a graduation parties is hard work and it requires a lot of effort. Some steps you can follow are:

Story continues below advertisement
  1. Decide if you want to host a small or big party
  2. Make a list of the people you want to invite
  3. Decide on a budget (food and other necessities can be very expensive)
  4. Choose a location and date/time to host the party
  5. Decide your theme (party decor) and menu, music and entertainment
  6. Do a big thing! Like a slideshow, photo booth, live stream or karaoke
  7. Send invitations

Graduation parties need to be a big bang! You finally did it. You learned a lot academically, but also about the real world. It’s finally time to bask in those achievements and make an impact on the world. It’s a milestone in everyone’s lives. A harbinger of new beginnings and bright futures. Congratulations to our seniors who have graduated!
